Meet Mrs. Hugghins
Aug 10th, 2009 by hugghinss
I am known to many of my students as Mrs. Huggs or Señora Hugghins, but to my friends and family I am Shelly. I teach Spanish II, III & IV at White Oak High School in East Texas, and my passion is reaching students via 21st Century tech integration. I absolutely love teaching Spanish, and finding ways to deliver content in an innovative way. I have attended several training sessions and conferences on using technology and 21st Century learning techniques with my students. During this time, many excellent trainers and speakers have taught me that my students really need to learn by discovery while taking ownership of the learning process. I have taken the past couple of years to really challenge myself to help students become creators of content rather than just consumers of content. I am currently beginning my ninth year to teach and I see education changing every year. I am very excited about the new school year and I can’t wait to see what my students discover both inside and outside of class this year. No matter if you are in a face to face class or taking my class online, please know that you are why I come to work every day; please know that you are very important to me.
